The Chicagoland COVID-19 Commons (CCC) is the first regional data commons launched under the Pandemic Response Commons Consortium. Born out of a consortium of Chicago-area civic and healthcare organizations with support from several technology partners, the CCC represents a persistent data resource for the research community engaging with COVID-19.

Why a regional commons?

There are a number of important efforts nationally and internationally to amass data and develop models to inform decisions relating to interventions and back-to-work and back-to-school strategies.

COVID-19 appears to affect different populations differently. While the pandemic is global, effective interventions and management of the disease have to be tailored to the local population, understanding the dynamics of communities at the neighborhood level. The CCC is the nexus for such efforts in the Chicago area.
